    South facing Syrah block at Wild Dog Vineyard, Baw Baw Shire, West Gippsland (block shared with Patrick Sullivan Bull Swamp Chardonnay and ARC Block 5 Cabernet). Simon and Charlie have been farming this vineyard since 2020. "Low yielding 30 y/o vines, cold southern exposure in very wet and cold climate gives a distinctly savoury, herbal, peppery syrah but with a mid palate of bright red fruit. A lot closer to Cornas than Canowindra". This is the second release and more complete than the previous year, with silkier tannins and a touch more meat on the bone. Farmed strictly organically, uncertified, no tilling. Wine is hand picked in late April, fermented with 80% whole bunch sealed in tank for 2 weeks. Then pressed to old oak puncheons for 15 months. Bottled with 20ppm SO2.
